It was a quiet and polite boy, and a student with a clear aptitude for art. After hearing the “King” and Buddy Holly, Clapton was enthusiastic for music, and at age of 13, his grandmother bought him his first guitar, an acoustic Spanish Hoya 14 pounds. The blues was the kind of music that got into Eric Clapton, and he began listening to artists like Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Big Bill Broonzy, and many more.

When he was already 16 years, Eric Clapton was inducted into the Kingston College Of Art, thanks mainly to its magnificent works of art. Although he chose to study stained glass design, failed to finish most of the work as entrusted, and who spent most of the time playing the guitar. Later he found work in construction, and when he managed to save a good amount of money, bought what would be his second guitar, a Kay Electric 100 pounds, and began playing in folk clubs at night. Thus, Eric Clapton delved into the world of music.
